BCFC's Willy Murphy with the wishing well cup after a BCFC's 3-2 cup win over Saint Andrews Youth
Broadway Celtic's old war horses roled back the years to snatch victory in the Wishing Well Cup against the division III champions Saint Andrews Youth in a thrilling finale to the Hendon & District League Season on Wednesday night at Kingsbury Town football club.
St Andrews Youth in their first Hendon Cup final would probably have started the favourites and they were roared on by a large part of the crowd as they took the game to BCFC from the off.
It was BCFC who took the lead though when Gavin Dobbs (pictured below celebrating his 1st strike with Danny Mulcahy) slotted home from close range on 20 minutes
BCFC only held onto the lead for 10 minutes when St Andrews drew leval and on 43 minutes BCFC fell behind though they were furious as they were adament that the St Andrews forward was offside.
Nicky Harman pictured above had to go off injured on 35 minutes
Saint Andrews had chances to put the game out of BCFC's reach and they would have done so but for some fantastic saves from Stand in keeper Paul O'Connor who was deputising for the absent Lee Caffery.

BCFC pulled leval with just over 10 minutes left when Gavin Dobbs found himself clean through and he rifled the ball into the top corner for his 10th goal of the season to take the tie to extra time.
Broadway dug deep into their reserves and it was Ryan Tanner (pictured below) last summers signing from the Castle FC of Childs Hill who grabbed the winner with a poachers finish insde the box.
Saint Andrews had a host of chances in the 2nd period of extra time but they could not hit the target and dispite enduring 8 minutes of injury time as players started going down with cramp BCFC held out for a memorable win.
BCFC 1st team have made it to 4 cup finals in the10 years they have being going and won the lot dispite being underdogs in each final which says alot about this very proud Cricklewood club who celebrated their 10th season in the Hendon League with another cup final to remember !
Fair play to Saint Andrews youth , they'll be back and i wish them luck in div II next year which they'll have an excellant chance of winning , as for a man of the match my heart says Paul Mcloughlin but my head says Willy Murphy who was a tower of strength, talking to players and spectators after the game both these 2 players names were mentioned .
BCFC - O'Connor, P. Mcloughlin ,Butterill ,Harman , Wright , Hogan , Mulcahy , Calbert , Mcnulty , Tanner , Dobbs
subs Willy Murphy for Nicky Harman 35 minutes
