Double Header v Sals
BCFC 0 Sals 3
BCFC 1 Sals 0
Broadway Celtic hauled themselves out of the relegation places and left Sals bar with it all to do to claim the title as a result of 2 very diferent matches in a double header at Broadfields sports ground in Harrow Weald last Sunday.
Both 2 teams were forced to play two 60 minutes games in order to help ease the fixture pile up caused by the wet winter weather and it was Sals who drew first blood easily brushing aside a disorganised BCFC side in the first game.
BCFC seemed happy enough to save themselves for the second game and would have probably settled for a point against a young Sals side who were looking odds on to walk away with another 3 points in the second game.

The second game started more evenly with BCFC looking much more settled and a draw looked a real possibility something which BCFC would have probably settled for. The first 30 minute half was fairly even and BCFC looked confident that if they stuck to the task in hand they could get something out of the game against the title chasing Sal's.
It was 10 minutes into the second half when the game suddely changed when a deep cross found BCFC's Gavin Dobbs unmarked in the penalty area and he made no mistake as he headed home to give BCFC the lead and spark jubilent celebrations amongst the Cricklewood side who were winless since November.

Sals flung everything at Broadway for the final 20 minutes and were furious not to have being awarded a penalty with 3 minutes left when BCFC keeper Lee Caffery bravely dived full-length through 2 Sals players to punch the ball clear completly pole-axing the 2 Sals players in question.
Referee 'Ola' leaves both teams bemused so much so that Gareth Butterill in the background adopts a rather convincing Stan Laurel impression.
Sal's frustion with the referee's failure to award a penalty resulted in a Sals player being sent off for dissent, that was Sals last chance and BCFC had a double reason to celebrate the final whistle as the result lifts them out of the relegation places and gives the Broadway Celtic 2nd team a great chance of catching Sals in the race for promotion as they strolled to a 5-0 victory against a relegated Kenton Town side at Northwick Park courtesy of goals from Mark Hayes (2) Chris O'leary, Brendan Gilbride and Mark Kelly.
