Broadway Celtic collected a valuable 4 points off local rivals London Irish in a double header clash at West Hendon playing fields on Sunday . With several weekends lost to bad weather the 2 teams were forced to play 2 one hour games in order to catch up on lost fixtures. Broadway edged London Irish in the 1st one hour game but a superb point blank save from Irish keeper Declan McCarthy denied Steve Fortune from capturing all 3 points from Broadway in the 1st game. Broadway though were quick of the mark in the 2nd game thanks to a cool finish from top scorer Ray Fitzpatrick after some great work from on the wing from Broadway's Jason Mullarkey and though London Irish had an even share of the ball they could find no way past Broadways defence who always seemed to be in control. Broadway Celtic now have a series of cup ties ahead as they aim to keep their post Christmas run of good form going, the 1st being a Hendon League Challenge Cup quarter final V's Kings United at Bushey Met Club next Sunday. |
